My first recollection of Terry Bradshaw would actually be from his playing days, yes I am that old. I remember what hair he had left back in 1978 was super blonde and he had a boy-next-door type of face and demeanor that made you just like the guy and want him to succeed.

As time went on and his NFL career ended, he moved on to broadcasting and has had a damn fine, long career doing it. Not a Sunday goes by that I don't see the man's face or hear his voice at least once or twice during the course of my NFL Football watching regiment. This past Sunday, Terry Bradshaw took some time to address some issues he has had lately with the broadcasts he has been on and the reasons as to why. Here is a tweet from the Fox Sports NFL Twitter account.

In an article published by Deadline, Bradshaw says...

“In November, I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. I went to the Yale University Medical Center [in New Haven]– surgery, treatment. As of today, I am bladder-cancer free. That’s the good news.

“Then in March, feeling good. I had a bad neck. I get an MRI. Now we find a tumor in my left neck. And it’s a Merkel cell tumor, which is a rare form of skin cancer. So I had that surgery done at M.D. Anderson in Houston.

“Folks, I may not look like my old self, but I feel like my old self. I’m cancer free, I’m feeling great. And over time, I’m going to be back to where I normally am.”

As a broadcaster myself, it is not easy to speak sometimes when you are sick and I can't imagine what he was going through trying to do his normal segments on Fox NFL Sunday. Not everyone was kind to Bradshaw on Twitter prior to his admission on air about his battle with cancer, here are a couple of examples...

Good ol' Twitter, it is what it is, sometimes it is the best thing in the world, and sometimes or most times, it is a cesspool of garbage and can't be taken seriously in any way, shape, or form. My hat's off to the guy, he has had a nice life and continues to live it despite all the obstacles he has had to face. I was never a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, but I don't know how anyone can look at the history of that franchise and NOT put Terry close to the tippy-top of all-time Steelers.

Good luck to him for a speedy recovery and we hope he enjoyed his time in New Haven at the Yale University Medical Center despite the circumstances. Thanks for hanging out with me and I will talk to you again very soon.
