Police are looking for information regarding a local woman who has been reported as missing for four days.

According to the Waterbury Police Department, 26-year-old Janet Avalo-Alvarez (pictured above) was last seen working at La Guakara Taina, a bar/nightclub on East Main Street, at around 10:30 PM on Tuesday, November 12. She was reported missing by friends and co-workers the next day.

When police began their search following the missing persons report, they say they located Ms. Alvarez's Nissan Altima in the rear parking lot of La Guakara Taina, but attempts to contact her via cell phone or her social media accounts have been unsuccessful.

At this time, city detectives are also attempting to locate the young woman's boyfriend, 32-year-old Alfredo Esmerli Peguero-Gomez, for an interview regarding the investigation. Peguero-Gomez is said to be the co-owner of the bar at which she was last seen.

The Waterbury PD says that after the execution of search warrants for the bar, Alvarez's car and residence on Ayers Street all turned out to be unsuccessful, they are continuing to pursue all leads in the case.

Janet Avalo-Alvarez stands at around 5'1'' and weighs about 150 to 160 pounds.

Anyone with information on the possible whereabouts of either Janet Alvarez or Alfredo Peguero-Gomez is asked to contact Waterbury Detectives at 203-574-6941.
