2020 Big E Cancelled Due to Coronavirus
As of today, June 29th, the Eastern States Exposition has released an official statement saying they are cancelling the 2020 BIG E.
In an official press release, the BIG E stated "it was one of the hardest decisions we, as an organization, have had to make." The decision was made "for the safety of our fairgoers, staff, vendors, entertainers, exhibitors, sponsors, suppliers, and the broader community."
If you've been to the Big E, you know it is more than just a fair. They do an amazing job of highlighting New England. They call it "a tradition and a celebration".
As hard as the decision tends to be, it was made based on the safety of the 1.6 million fairgoers every year. "Our staff has spent the last few months working tirelessly to figure a way to bring our annual New England tradition to everyone this fall." the statement says. "Despite exploring all options and planning extensively, we realized that The Big E experience that everyone has come to know and love would not be the same."
For now, we get to look forward to next year's. The Big E 2021 will be taking place from September 17th - October 3, 2021.
