Cops: Two Connecticut Officers Arrested After Being Caught in Hotel Together
Two Norwalk police officers have been issued arrest warrants on various charges after a three-month investigation after being found in a local hotel.
According to the Norwalk Police Department press release, the investigation began on October 10, 2020, when Norwalk Police Dispatch could not reach Officers Michael Dimeglio and Sara Laudano on the police radio or on Laudano's cell phone at 12:47 am.
Police say their two police cruisers were found in the parking lot at the Even Hotel in Norwalk. After contacting hotel management, Norwalk police supervisors learned they had been in a room at the hotel. When the supervisors located the two officers, they reported both Dimeglio and Laudano were in no condition to respond to any police matter.
The officers were relieved of duty and placed on administrative leave. After a lengthy criminal investigation, Officer Sara Laudano was arrested and charged with Second Degree Larceny, Reckless Endangerment, and Risk of Injury to a Child. Officer Michael Dimeglio was arrested and charged with Second Degree Larceny and Second Degree Reckless Endangerment. The two will appear in court on February 16.
According to the Hartford Courant, the two had been drinking several beers in the police station parking lot. When police located Laudano's Ford Explorer and Dimeglio's Ford Crown Victoria in the hotel parking lot, there were empty beer cartons on both vehicles' front seat. The two will appear in court on February 16 and are free on a $75,000 bond.
