After I graduated from high school in 1969, why didn't a family member or a good friend get in my face and yell, "You're not going to get rich by being on the radio, you idiot!"

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my job and my life. The question is, would I be happier and even more fulfilled if I was a rich man? Does making a ton of money make you a happier person? One thing's for sure, I'll never know. The people to ask are the 17 individuals in the State of Connecticut who made the Forbes list of the richest people in the world. We'll get to them in a sec.

I'm told that Melinda Gates has a separate in-law apartment on their Seattle estate just for her shoe collection! Not surprisingly, Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, landed in the #1 spot again this year by upping his fortune by $11 billion. At 61, Gates is worth $86.4 billion. How in holy hell can anyone survive the day to day grind with a pittance like that?! Here's a stat that will make you sick, Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook is worth $58 billion, #6 in the world. But you have to ask yourself, "But are they happy?" Do you think Zuckerberg has the biggest baddest house on the block with a 15 car garage?

It's not a shock that 17 Connecticut residents made the Forbes List of the Richest People in the World. The most notable people are Greenwich resident, Ray Dalio, the founder of the world's largest hedge fund, worth $16.8 billion, which makes him the richest human in Connecticut. He's followed by Steve Cohen who weighs in with a net worth of $13 billion.

The only Danbury resident who made that list is Peter Buck, the co-founder of Subway, who's net worth is a measly $2.5 billion. C'mon Peter, get your s--t together!
