Your Guide to Greater Danbury Farmers Markets for 2022
As the days get longer and we journey closer and closer to the center of the summer of 2022, we thought we would highlight some of the local farmers markets that are open and ready to serve the entire spectrum of vegetable and fruit consumers.
Before we get started with this list of places that I am just discovering, I am not a vegan, not even close. Meat eater, but I understand and respect most other eating preferences. My tastes have expanded as I have gotten older, but I still go for the good ol' go-to standbys like chicken or chicken. Joking, of course, but not that far off. I can appreciate how good produce looks, smells, feels, and most times can tell you whether or not a particular fruit or vegetable is ready to eat or should be given a day or two.
With COVID happening, farmers markets, like most things, all but disappeared. You will be happy to know that farmers markets are alive and well and open for business. Hours are kind of weird for a farmers market sometimes, not always the usual type of business, not the usual type of hours. My mother would joke with me and ask me to go to the Farmers Market in our small town back in Kansas, knowing full well that the 6 AM to 9 AM business time was way too early for this guy who worked nights at the time.
One more note before we get started with this amazing list of good-looking grub purchasing places. What the heck do I do with Mr. Apostrophe...I mean, is it farmer's, farmers', or just farmers? So, I went to Google.
That is what comes up but, use the apostrophe how you want to, it's cool with me, just don't mess up "to" and "too."
