You’ll Soon Hear ‘Grazie’ in East Lyme, Enfield, and Sturbridge
If you've ever left a tip for the hard-working employees at any Nardelli's Grinder Shoppe around Connecticut, you've heard them ring a bell, and yell 'Grazie' in appreciation. Grazie is 'Thank you' in Italian, and soon, Eastern Connecticut, Northern Connecticut, and the antique capital of Western Massachusetts residents will get their first chance to hear it in person too.
Nardelli's, initially known as 'The grinder Kings of Waterbury' have expanded far beyond the Brass City and Naugatuck over the past few decades. Right now, there are 15 Nardelli's locations in operation around Connecticut:
- Cromwell
- Danbury
- East Hartford
- Farmington
- Meriden
- Milford
- Naugatuck
- Norwalk
- Oxford
- Southbury
- Southington
- Torrington
- Wallngford
- Waterbury (2 Locations)
As of June 2023, Nardelli's 16th location will open up, for the first time in Southeastern Connecticut, with a long-awaited Nardelli's right off of Exit 75 of I-95 in East Lyme. According to Nardellis.com, Enfield, Connecticut and Sturbridge, Massachusetts are next in line for Nardelli's number 17 & 18.
I've been eating Nardelli's food my whole life, and I can honestly say that out of the thousands of grinders that I've tried, Nardelli's Baked, Stuffed Pastrami grinder is my go-to, it's the most delicious, savory grinder in all of Connecticut, if not the US. If pastrami isn't your thing, Nardelli's offers a wide range of classic Italian combos, chicken, pork, veggie and beef grinders, antipasto, salads, soups, and a great selection of desserts. Here's a good tip fellow for pistachio lovers, Nardelli's sells Bazzini's pistachios, and they still taste the same as you remember.
