UPDATE: Victims Identified, Many Injured After Plane Crashes Into Union Vale Home
More information has been learned after a plane crashed into a Hudson Valley home, killing two, injuring many others and leaving a person and pets missing.
A Cessna 303 aircraft crashed into a home located at 235 South Smith Road in Union Vale on Saturday around 4:30 p.m.
Three people were flying in the plane when it crashed into the home. Three people and many pets were inside the home at the time of the crash.
The small plane departed from Orange County Airport and stopped for fuel at Sky Acres Airport in LaGrangeville. It was heading from Sky Acres to Farmingdale in Long Island when it crashed into the Dutchess County home.
The pilot, 61-year-old Francisco Knipping-Diaz of Woodmere, died at the scene. His two passengers, Eduardo Tio, 50, from Woodmere and 52-year-old Teoflio Antonio Diaz Pratt of the Dominican Republic, both sustained non-life-threatening injuries, police say.
Gerard Bocker, 61, Hannah Bocker, 21, and Sarah Bocker, 30, were all inside the home at the time of the crash. Gerard, the father of the two girls, was killed. Hannah was critically injured and Sarah sustained non-life-threatening injuries, police say.
A number of pets owned by the family are still missing. One dog died in the house and another dog has been found, according to the Town of Union Vale Facebook page. A number of cats and a dog remain missing, officials say.
