U2 Wrap Up U.S. Tour With Incredible Show in Connecticut
By all accounts, it was quite the spectacle at Mohegan Sun Arena earlier this week (July 3), as U2 lived up to their own name with a breathtaking performance on the final stop of the United States leg of their Experience + Innocence Tour.
With a very healthy 21-song set and theatrics that could rival any show on the Las Vegas strip, U2 captivated the Connecticut crowd in a setting that is much more intimate than their typical stadium performances.
It may sound cliche, but the Experience + Innocence Tour's set is much more of an "experience" as opposed to a simple concert. Even the stage itself was WAY above the ordinary with a suspended runway flanked by two stages and an LCD screen that ran the entire length of Mohegan Sun Arena.
We checked in with one of our account reps here at i95, Jackie Dee AKA The 80s Mom. She's a lifelong U2 super-fan, who had an incredible view of the stage at Tuesday's show. Here's what she had to say about her experience:
If you happened to check out the U2 concert last night (June 3) at Mohegan Sun, you are as lucky as me. Bono and the boys put on a great show every time. I will say, I missed my all-time favorite songs, but the up-close experience at Mohegan Sun was incredible. With U2s big stage setup, they literally took over the whole venue and worked the stage so that every seat was a great one.
I have seen U2 seven times and they never disappoint. I saw them last year at MetLife on the Joshua Tree tour, and I will die a happy girl. Amazing show with the songs that have been playing in the background of my life since high school. U2 is my absolute favorite.
I’m sorry to say that this was the last night of the tour here in the U.S., so if you missed them, I am deeply sorry. I will say, however, that you should check out the line up at Mohegan Sun. They have some great shows coming up and it is worth the extra money to see your favorite up close and personal!
I also won $200 bucks at the casino which is always a great time!
Signed,
The 80s Mom
