Picking the right grocery store is kind of hard nowadays. Do you go for price? Location? Convenience? Cleanliness? I have a hard time switching up grocery stores because I am so used to my regular one. I know where everything is and it's more of a comfort thing for me. Even though I pay more money for my items, I would sometimes rather that if I'm surrounded by the familiarity.

Grocery shopping in general is not a fun task. You're surrounded by so many people and there is just so much happening. I try to go in with a list, get my items and get out. If you're hungry, in a rush, or in a bad mood, it's probably not the most ideal place for you. What's something that can at least make it a little bit better? Going to one of the better grocery stores.

Just recently, Solitaired came out with a list of the Worst Major Grocery Chains in the country and two of those chains are found in Connecticut. One of them only has a few stores around Connecticut and the other is blanketed around the state.

First, according to this list, the number 1 worst grocery store chain was King Soopers. I personally have never heard of this chain. After looking at their website, they are a Colorado-based grocery chain with 119 stores in two states, the other being Wyoming. Now it makes sense as to why I've never heard of it.

The two chains that are around Connecticut that are considered the worst are Walmart and Acme. Walmart came in at number 4 of the worst grocery chain list and Acme came in at number 6. Walmart has 33 Connecticut stores and 12 of them are supercenters. Walmart is all around the state and is apparently not the best place to shop for your groceries. ACME only has 4 Connecticut locations and they are in Greenwich, New Canaan, Riverside and Stamford.

The other stores to make it on this list were Save A Lot, Kroger, Giant Eagle, Safeway, Piggly Wiggly, Jewel-Osco and Fred Meyer. I'll stick to Big Y and Stew Leonard's, thank you.
