Torrington Police Seek Evading Hit and Run Driver
A weekend overnight hit and run accident has left a Torrington pedestrian injured and has the Torrington Police Department reaching out via their social media in an attempt to identify the evading driver.
On Saturday, February 27 at approximately 1:30 in the morning, Torrington Police received a call about a hit and run motor vehicle accident that had just occurred. Responding officers found that a pedestrian had been attending to their vehicle on the shoulder of the roadway by the intersection of Central Avenue and High Street. The suspect vehicle, described as a late 90's/early 2000's white Ford Ranger or Mazda B2000 truck was traveling Northbound on High Street and struck the victim while they were on the side of the road.
The victim sustained minor injuries, was treated and is thankfully recovering. It's believed that the suspect vehicle may have sustained damage to the front passenger side and also may possibly be missing the front passenger side mirror.
It must have been absolutely terrifying to be struck in the middle of such a brutally cold night, but luckily the victim received only minor injuries and was able to get help on the way quickly. The Torrington Police are requesting your assistance. If you have any information about this incident or the suspect vehicle, contact the Torrington Police Department at 860-489-2007, or you can contact the investigating Officer Connolly directly at his email - firstname.lastname@example.org.
