A massive spill has caused some disruption on one of Danbury's busiest Streets.

According to a social media post from Western Connecticut State University, about 1,000 pounds of roofing nails have been scattered across Lake Avenue Extension. Apparently a truck spilled the load in the area in front of Stanziato's Restaurant.

Obviously, nails in the roadway can easily cause damage to tires, thus making travel in that area difficult during clean up, so it's probably best to avoid the area for the time being.

WCSU mentioned in their post that despite the spill, the Westside campus remains open. They suggest that if you need to get onto that particular campus, to either take Kenosia Avenue or come from the opposite way using exit 2 off of I-84.
