The Big E kicked off its 105th edition on the second Friday after Labor Day and will run for 17 days.

All six New England states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont are represented at the fair, which is billed as "New England's Great State Fair."

Because the Big E was canceled due to COVID in 2020, more than 80,000 fairgoers came out for opening night. The fair has upped its concert lineup this year featuring the Goo Goo Dolls on October 1, and Styx on October 3 at the Big E Arena.

The Court of Honor Stage features Kashmir: The Live Led Zeppelin Show on October 1, Hoobastank on October 2, and Darryl "DMC" McDaniels of RUN DMC.

Even though The Big E rates 3.5/5 stars on Yelp, there are those select few that just aren't happy with anything and as far as I'm concerned, find reasons to slam The Big E.

Why do fairgoers travel to the Big E? They go for all the reasons any of us go to a country fair which is delicious food that's bad for us, the carnival-like experience which includes amusement rides and games, and the live entertainment.

What are the negatives of traveling to a fair of this magnitude? You know there are going to be swarms of people, lines of traffic, finding a decent parking space, and elevated prices for just about everything. The one-star reviews complained about all of those things. The following are 10 of the strangest one-star reviews about The Big E.
