Porch family portraits are a beautiful way to help chronicle our hopefully temporary new way of life. According to an article on the ctinsider website, the concept is called the "Porch-raits Project" and was introduced in Redding on April 23 by a group of professional photographers. Similar family porch portraits are taking place all over the country.

Local photographers have been kind enough to donate their professional services to Redding families to help them archive what daily life is like during a worldwide pandemic.

I know my friends and family members are always brainstorming new ideas on how to virtually stay connected by utilizing Zoom Video for simple conversations or group cocktail hours.

My wife, Mindy recently came up with the idea of implementing Zoom to virtually connect with family members so we're all able to get together to light the candles that ushers in Shabbat, Judaism's day of rest that begins at sundown on Friday and lasts until sundown on Saturday. Shabbat Shalom everyone!
