Police Say Connecticut Man Was Impersonating Firefighter
Impersonating a person in the role of first responder is never going to end well for you.
I know a lot of children when asked what they want to be when they grow up say, Fireman. Hopefully if that is their dream they get the chance to fulfill it. But being devious and underhanded about it is never the way to go.
In a report from nbcconnecticut.com police have arrested a Connecticut man after he was found to be impersonating a firefighter. Authorities say that 26-year-old Steven Young was driving a vehicle with emergency lights and sirens on. Police observed him pass several cars in a no passing zone, and they allege he was driving erratically.
After he was pulled over, Young not only told police he was the captain of the Cohanzie Fire Department in Waterford but also that he was responding to an active fire. Investigators say there was no fire, and Young had no connection to the fire department.
As if the impersonation wasn't enough, police say they found an emergency medical bag and portable radio in his vehicle, and upon searching his home they discovered a fake FBI badge, other law enforcement clothing and weapons.
According to police,Young has been charged with criminal impersonation, interfering with an officer, illegal use of flashing or color lights, passing in a no passing zone and operation of a motor vehicle under suspension.
Something tells me this wasn't living out a childhood dream.
