PHOTO GALLERY: New Fairfield Rocks With Creative Symbols of Hope & Kindness
Mindy and I moved to New Fairfield in the spring of 1979, not really knowing how much we would love it here.
The other day I was wandering out to grab the mail, and I noticed someone had taken the time to paint a small rock the color black with i95 painted in red, which are the colors of our radio station's logo and where I've spent most of my adult life behind a microphone.
I was extremely touched by the fact that someone would leave me such a personal keepsake. When I mentioned it to my wife, Mindy, she turned me on to a new Facebook Page titled, 'NFCTRocks.' The following photos are just a sample of what you'll find on their page.
New Fairfield Rocks With Kindness
NFCTRocks is the brainchild of New Fairfield resident Britta Schemm Pedersen, who's also the broker/owner of Dream House Realty. According to the group's FB page, the motivation behind NFCTRocks was to establish a fun activity that the community as a whole could be a part of. Considering the circumstances around the world, I find these stony works of art symbols of kindness and hope.
The idea is to find a painted rock or create one of your own, snap a photo and then leave it for someone else to find and then post your picture in the group to share. Considering the circumstances around the world, I find these miniature works of art symbols of kindness and hope.
