After signing an executive order that allows restaurants and retail shops to operate outdoors, Mayor Pete Bass will temporarily close some of New Milford's streets to give shops and restaurants more space to work outdoors if they choose according to an article on newstimes.com.

Bank Street will be closed to cars after 5 pm, which allows parking areas to be available for more restaurant seating. I love New Milford because it genuinely represents what Connecticut is all about, that smalltown New England character and vibe.

I'm sure you're already aware of how important it is to patronize your hometown shops and restaurants. For some, it's going to make the difference between whether they're able to stay in business. Beginning June 1, New Milford kicks off 'Welcome Back Dining. Out' where restaurants will be offering weekly promotions throughout the month.

New Milford offices will also be opening slowly, so the mayor and town officials can monitor the phases of reopening. Mayor, Pete Bass told the Newstimes, "We want to make sure our employees are safe."

As New Milford's reopening progresses, you can check the New Milford Spectrum website for special promotions being offered by various retails shops and restaurants.
