Sometimes you just want a nice, juicy cheeseburger and fries, right? One of my favorite local places to grab a nice burger, fries, and ice cream, Carvel/G's Burgers, at 1300 Main Street in Watertown, recently underwent a major renovation.

Mrs. Large and I have been watching the building transform over the past few months, as they've basically enclosed the outdoor dining area with the picnic tables on the G's Burger's side of the building. We tried to order a couple of burgers online this past Monday evening, April 5, 2021, and we were surprised to find that the Watertown location was closed. Come to find out, just yesterday, it was closed to make the finishing touches on the newly renovated space, and G's posted this to their official Facebook page:

From the photo above, you can see that the new interior is way different than the tight store that was previously there. The Naugatuck Carvel/G's Burger location at 778 New Haven Road was always a bigger space, with a lot more interior seating than the Watertown store. I'm sure that this was a good way to create some much needed social distance, for the employees, as well as the customers. I can remember going to the Carvel in that building in Watertown back in the 70-80s, it's been there as long as I can remember. G's has been in that location since they opened in 2008.

If you've never had G's, they have a very simple menu: 10 different Hamburgers, Chicken sandwich, Gyro, and Tenders, Philly Steak or Chicken sandwich, and a Hot Dog. Plus, they make serious French fries, they're my local fry favorite. I'll see you in their newly renovated Watertown location this weekend.
