One of the biggest names in American fast food continues to invest in the renovation and upgrading of its restaurant locations, and it was just announced that there is going to be a complete roof to ground transformation for the McDonalds on Rt. 6 in Mahopac, New York.

According to a post on The Greater Mahopac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce's official Facebook page, and responses from the owners of the restaurant, the JC Wong Corp, the McDonalds at 156 Rt. 6 in Mahopac has shut it's doors down temporarily as of yesterday, August 10, 2020, for a major transformation. They estimate that it will be at least 6-8 weeks, into October 2020, before the restaurant will re-open.

McDonalds has continuously torn down and rebuilt their white and red-painted/sloped roof buildings around our area over recent years. They transform them into more of a natural wood and stone cube-shaped buildings. Here's a recent photo of the McDonald's located on Rt. 22 in Carmel that's already undergone the renovation.

There are a few other McDonalds nearby that you can get your fix at while the 154 Rt. 6 Mahopac McDonalds is closed. The closest McDonalds to the East is at 1931 Rt. 6 in Carmel, and to the West, there is a McDonalds on Rt. 6 at 3078 E. Main St in Mohegan Lake. You might have to drive a bit further to get your mix and match 2 for $5 breakfast sandwiches, but I'm sure it will be worth the wait. In October, you'll have a state-of-the-art McMuffin factory pumping out the delicious treats.
