Legendary Connecticut Recording Studio Auctioning Off Vintage Equipment

If you've been seriously involved in the music scene here in Connecticut anytime over the past 50 years, as a performer or producer, you know Trod Nossel Studios in Wallingford. This week, you could personally own some of the vintage equipment used to capture almost 60 years of Connecticut performing arts history.

The Legendary Trod Nossel Studios is located in Wallingford on George Street. It was established in 1966 by Doc Cavalier, and is now run by his daughter Darlene. Trod Nossel Studios is one of the oldest and longest running recording studios in the world. Trod Nossel is a true pioneer in audio and music production.

Some of the most notable names that have recorded, produced, and performed art at Trod Nossel include: Alex Chilton, Agnostic Front, Fleetwood Mac, Ben E King, Foghat, Hatebreed, Joe Cocker, Mick Jagger, Michael Bolton, Phil Spector, R. Kelly, Steppenwolf, Rivers Cuomo, Henry Winkler, and the Whiffenpoofs from Yale.

This Thursday, April 28, 2022, Trod Nossel Studios will be auctioning off over 270 vintage pieces of their incredible collection of recording equipment on AuctionNinja.com. If you're an aspiring musician, producer, or you want to try your hand at capturing the perfect beat digitally, these are the tools of the trade that you need to purchase.

Some of the more expensive items in the auction are: A Sony Mixing Board, a 2 inch tape recorder, a wide selection of vintage AKG, Sennheiser, Shure, and Electro Voice microphones, and a set of powerful studio speakers. But most of the 270 items are listed with opening bids of $50 or less. The most interesting item that I found was a lot of vintage headphones, including a pair that THAT Stevie Nicks wore while she performed and recorded at Trod Nossel in the early 70's. There is also a microphone that Stevie used up for bid too.
