Breezy the Drug-Sniffing Dog Is Connecticut’s Latest Crime-Fighting Hero
K-9 Dog Drug Bust in CT
According to a press release from the CT State Police, two men are now facing drug charges after a suspicious vehicle call turned into a full-blown narcotics bust in Middlefield.

It all went down on June 30th, when Troopers from Troop F (Westbrook) showed up on Route 66 after someone reported a sketchy car. Once they started talking to the driver and passenger, police say there were a bunch of red flags pointing to possible drug use.
That’s when they called in the big guns—K-9 Breezy. Breezy’s specially trained to sniff out drugs, and sure enough, she got a whiff of something shady. After a search of the car, Troopers reportedly found:
52 bags of white powder they believe is cocaine (weighing in at 83 grams)
6 mystery pills
A bunch of drug paraphernalia
$2,442 in cash
Turns out, the guys in the car didn’t go home that night. Instead, police arrested Jameson Beardsley, 38, from Meriden, and John Arnold, 27, from Wallingford.
Here’s what they’re looking at charge-wise:
Jameson Beardsley
Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Possession of a Controlled Substance
John Arnold
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Possession of a Controlled Substance
Beardsley was released after posting a $15,000 bond, while Arnold was let go on a
$2,500 bond. Both are due in Middletown Superior Court on July 14, 2025.
What's Breezy facing?
He'll probably end up with a medal a few years down the road, maybe now who knows. There is also a real solid chance he'll be eating meals that taste way better than the ones in Jameson and John's future. I like to imagine Breezy will read this and have a laugh before shuffling off for a quiet nap in front of the TV. Here's to you hero dog!
