Keteyian’s work with 60 Minutes Sports and Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel helped solidify his status as a leading voice in sports media, earning him multiple Emmy Awards along the way.

Throughout his career, Keteyian has skillfully balanced hard-hitting investigations with compelling storytelling, whether it’s chronicling the rise of the NBA or producing documentaries on figures like Tiger Woods. Recently, we caught up with him ahead of College Football's National Championship game to get his insights. During the interview, my colleague asked Keteyian about Bill Belichick’s future as the head coach at the University of North Carolina—a topic that’s generated a lot of buzz, especially considering the speculation about Belichick leaving before his team even takes a snap. Here’s what Keteyian had to say.

Dave: Armen since the last time we talked to you, one of the biggest stories in all of college football has been Bill Belichick's hiring at North Carolina. What is your take on that?

Armen: "It's so funny you say that. Bill and I have actually been talking the last couple of weeks. It's interesting—I’ve known him for 25 years, going back to my days at CBS Sports, covering the Patriots from the sidelines during their huge Super Bowl run, the dynasty that was there. It's funny, I look back at some of the reports that say, 'Oh, Bill hasn't signed his contract' or 'Bill has an out after June,' or 'Someone has to pay a million dollars instead of ten million on a buyout.' I can tell you, he's not going anywhere. He's very, very happy at Carolina. He's putting together a great staff. I think he's revitalized and energized by being in the college game. And as he said to me, college football is a professional sport. You know, they're on scholarship, but they're getting paid. He understands that. He understands how to build a roster, and with Mike Lombardi now, there's essentially a salary cap for your team—a 20-million-dollar budget they have. One of the things he said to me was, 'When I started in Cleveland, my first head coaching job, my cap was like 20 million for my team, for my roster, and that’s what it is now. You know, I’ve dealt with rookies.' One of the things I asked him was, 'You're dealing with 18-21-year-old kids,' and he said, 'Armen, I've dealt with rookies before, and they don’t know anything when they come into the NFL. Some of the kids I get in the program aren't going to know that much about college football, but you know, Bill at heart is a teacher.' I think it’s great for the game. God knows it’s going to be a story next year, and I just think he’s found a home down there in Carolina that he didn’t expect to have. It’s going to be fascinating to watch what happens with that program under his leadership."

I certainly remember shopping at three of the stores on this list and it transports me back to my youth and that makes it a find memory. These 4 stores were not only wildly popular in their day but they had their national headquarters right here in the Nutmeg State.
