I've been on Ozempic for a year and a half, and it's drastically changed the way and what I eat, but Goddamn, I still can house chicken parmesan. I love it on a grinder, and as a full dinner too. I ordered it multiple times throughout this past year, and here are the three best that I had around Connecticut.

My wife and I ate at the incredible Italian Restaurant Alta Strada at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket last weekend, and the overall best order of chicken parm for 2024 goes here. You can see in the photo above, the Alta Strada chicken parm features San Marzano tomatoes, fresh mootz, and the lightest of breading. The chicken had absolutely no gaminess to it, which is something that I've run into a couple of times recently. The sauce was mild, not a hint of acidity, and it left a wonderful aftertaste.

On a recent trip to pick up some halibut at City Fish in Rocky Hill, we drove by a place that I've heard a lot about on social media due to their layered chicken parm grinders, it's called Wethersfield Pizza, and it's located on the Silas Deane Highway. If I hadn't noticed "Home of the chicken cutlet' on their sign, we would have driven right by, it's a mostly take-out pizza house in a strip mall, but damn they make thinly-sliced breaded chicken parm like no other. I tried one of their signature Italian style chicken parms, and despite the fact that they use Provolone, the five layers of thinly-sliced breaded chicken will blow your face off. A solid #2 for 2024.

Rounding out my Top 3 chicken parms for 2024 is one of my alltime favorites - Noochie's Deli on America Street in Waterbury. Noochie's gives you the choice of chicken, eggplant, meatball, or veal parm on your grinder, and you can't go wrong with any of them. Sick of chicken parm? Try Noochie's 'Classic D'amelio'.
