Hats Off to These Retailers for Closing on Thanksgiving
According to bestblackfriday.com, there are many major retailers closing their doors on Thanksgiving so their employees can be home with their families. Hats off to them for doing that, because they could just fall in line and go after every last dollar.
Our consumerism knows no bounds. We allowed Christmas to become ALL about gifts, and we have allowed Christmas to devour the Thanksgiving holiday, and make it about deals we can get on gifts we NEED to buy that we will not remember by next year. Some major retailers are not having it. They will be closed on Thanksgiving. Here are some of the companies who are not open on Thanksgiving:
- Home Depot
- Lowe's
- Costco
- H&M
- Ikea
- Pier 1 Imports
- Sam's Club
- Sprint
- DSW
- Marshall's
- Office Depot
- Pet Smart
- Staples
Those are the big boys, but there are more. I can not relate to anyone who will waste one of our best holidays shopping so they can save a few bucks on a TV. Do better, America. Maybe spend time with your family. Black Friday is terrible also. If I have to explain to you why taking your life into your hands for deep discounts is a bad thing, then you can not be helped.
Have fun this year, discount shoppers. Warning — the video below contains violence and questionable language. All of it happened on Black Fridays. So if you don't like violence or questionable language, don't watch, and don't shop Black Friday.
