Gov. Malloy Announces DMV Express Opening in Connecticut
According to a press release from Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy, a new DMV Express opens today (Nov. 28) in Stamford, CT. The 137 Henry Street sub station is one of a handful of locations throughout the state. They are open Monday thru Friday and have regular business hours. Here are the services offered:
- Renewals of verified driver’s licenses (U.S. citizens only)
- Renewals of regular driver’s licenses (U.S. citizens only)
- Renewals of non-U.S. citizen regular driver’s licenses
- Renewals of verified identification cards (U.S. citizens only)
- Renewals of regular identification cards (U.S. citizens only)
- Renewals of non-U.S. citizen regular identification cards
- Duplicate driver’s licenses, identification cards, and learner’s permits
- Name changes on driver licenses, identification cards and learner’s permits
I'm no Malloy fan but I must say his heart is in the right place on this one. However, it's an admission that the DMV is a broken, antiquated system. Can we once and for all turn this thing over to McDonald's and call it a day? I AM NOT JOKING.
McDonald's gets herds in and out, all day, everyday with hot food in minutes. You think they can't implement better systems than the State of Connecticut? They even manage to get the "menu board" man in and out. Who is "menu board" man? That's the guy who stares at the menu like he's never seen it before. You know, while he's in front of you in line, looking at the board like he's reading hieroglyphics, that guy.
