Gilmore Girls-Frenzy is reaching a fever peak in Connecticut, New Milford just hosted a fan festival dubbed "A Weekend in the Life', and this upcoming weekend "The Firelight Event' will take place in Guilford. It's turning into a Gilmore Girls Fan Fest Battle Royale in Connecticut.

There are many ways to capitalize on the success of the Gilmore Girls around here, the fictional town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut is the setting on the show, and those who live here know that the real-life inspiration for Gilmore creator Amy Sherman-Palladino began with a stay at the Mayflower Inn in Washington, and day trips to New Milford, Litchfield/Woodbury/Southbury/West Hartford, etc.

Gilmore fans can visit Stars Hollow Yarn, which is located along Rt. 202 in Marbledale, but anyone who visited the first fan festival that took place years ago in Washington left disappointed. Reviewers felt that Washington Depot was uninviting to attendees at the time, so the decision was made to move the 'Firelight Festival' to the Connecticut shoreline in Guilford. Guilford honestly could pass for Stars Hollow, but those who crave authenticity know that New Milford's gazebo was the one true inspiration for the set.

Each festival in 2025 has brought in actors who appeared on the show, with most of the cast appearing over the years. The Firelight Event this weekend has scored an appearance from Emily Gilmore herself, actress Kelly Bishop. As any event promoter will tell you, it costs big money to get the actors to show up, and tickets for each event have crept into the $150-400 range. Good luck this weekend in Guilford, and hopefully someone will bring Kirk to Connecticut one of these days.
