Cinnamon Churros, one of Danbury's most popular food trucks, has magically transformed into the Cinnamon Churros Café, located at 180 Old Hawleyville Road in Bethel. On most days, you could find the Cinnamon Churros Food Truck across from the Danbury Ice Arena.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I've never tasted churros in my 71 years. But, according to livingtours.com, this delicious sweet treat is a type of fried dough from Spanish and Portuguese cuisine. First, the dough is fried until it becomes crunchy. The cylindrical-shaped churro is then dipped in sugar and cinnamon and sometimes covered in chocolate.

Owners Leidimar and Marcos Mendonca told CT Post they wanted to be in business year-round. However, the food truck business usually winds down in the fall.

Over the last seven years, the Cinnamon Churros Food Truck has become one of the most popular and successful food trucks in the Greater Danbury area and was voted #2 of 123 mobile eateries in Connecticut.

You can now find the two of them at their new brick & mortar location they've named the Cinnamon Churros Café at 180 Old Hawleyville Road. They're open from 8 am until 7 pm Mondays through Saturdays.
