First Look Inside Waterbury’s New Cumby

I stopped into Cumberland Farm's newest store this morning, it's located at the newly constructed 1481 Watertown Avenue in Waterbury. This is the stretch of Rt. 73/Watertown Ave that lies between Municipal Stadium and the shopping plaza where Mario's and Dollar General stand. They blasted out a huge chunk of rock and built a couple of new shopping plazas along this stretch over the past couple of years. Right next to the new Cumby's is another new gas station/convenience store that's under construction. The store only recently opened it's doors for business, two weeks ago. It's a "New Concept" Cumby's, according to the company website. Very bright and airy inside, and they're offering free coffee for the time being, if you stop inside. While I was there this morning, I saw a couple of Waterbury Municipal trucks and workers fueling up before the day got underway, this new Cumby's will absolutely take some of the business away from the relatively new Dunkin' that sits right next door.
