One of our favorite activities while cruising Candlewood Lake is admiring the big beautiful homes that occupy Candlewood Lake's waterfront. Mindy and I have owned a boat on Connecticut's largest lake for the last 34 years, and we love inviting friends out for our cocktail dinner cruises. We like to call it our yoga.

We own a 25 foot 1995 Godfrey pontoon boat with 1,450 hours of running time on it, which we fondly call our "floating living room". So I thought that maybe some of you would enjoy checking out what the Candlewood Lake waterfront looks like from the water.

We packed up a small cooler of beers, bought some sandwiches from the deli at Johnny's New Fairfield Food Center, and launched from the New Fairfield Town Park.

On our left, you'll see Chatterton Marina, and then we'll pass by Spear Point at the tip of New Fairfield's Bogus Hill lake community on our way to a waterfront tour as we cruise into Shelter Harbor.
