DUI Checkpoint Announced for Waterbury’s South End
The city of Waterbury is continuing to make sure that the city streets are safe for all of us to travel, and they're on the lookout for drivers operating under the influence. Waterbury Police have just sent out information regarding another upcoming DUI and safety checkpoint happening this weekend.
As part of the Waterbury's Traffic Services Summer Traffic Safety Initiative, Waterbury PD will be conducting another DUI Sobriety and Safety Checkpoint on Friday July 17, 2020 between 9PM and 2AM in the area of 2071 Baldwin Street, which is basically in front of Stanley's Auto Body, and the Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church in the city's south end. The checkpoint is part of the Waterbury PD's ongoing expanded DUI enforcement campaign, supervised by the Traffic Services Unit, and funded through a grant from the State D.O.T. DUI Enforcement Program.
The city has previously set up checkpoints during the current ssummer enforcement campaign on Highland Avenue in the Town Plot section of town, and most recently during the Fourth of July holiday weekend on Hamilton Avenue near the Brass Mill Center Mall area.
