There's been another shift in the retail landscape due to the pandemic, and this closure is going to affect two Connecticut locations. David's Tea, a popular Canada-based tea seller, has been operating in the United States since 2011. They've grown over the years to 82 locations in Canada, and 42 locations here in the US. The company, unfortunately, made the announcement this past weekend that under a new restructuring plan, all brick and mortar David's Tea locations will permanently close.

The good news in this, is that the company has always had a healthy online business, and they are accelerating their transition to a more online retailer and wholesaler presence with their retail store closure. They will also continue to honor their Frequent Steeper rewards program, and honor gift cards at davidstea.com.

Mrs. Large is a Frequent Steeper, and we will both miss stopping by the two David's Tea locations that are permanently closing: Westfarms Mall in West Hartford, and the Shops at Evergreen Walk in South Windsor. There used to be one in Westport also, but that shut down in the middle of 2018.

If you are going to miss being able to actually stroll around and take in all of the exotic smells of fresh tea leaves and blends, there are a couple of places to do so. One is right up the road from the radio station here in Brookfield actually - Simpson & Vail - located on Quarry Road in Brookfield.

Mrs. Large also suggests Harney and Sons in Millerton, NY. We took a ride up to the quiet Northwest corner a few times to get lost wandering through and enjoying the wonderful smells.
