Danbury Radio Host Ethan Carey Says His Career is Winding Down
It's not over but he says his career is winding down.
Ethan's retirement is a topic I usually avoid, but it's getting to the point that I cannot escape it. My morning show partner is 71 years old and entering a new phase in his life. Ethan Carey made an announcement on the Ethan and Lou Show on Thursday (7/14/22), saying:
"I went to management and I said it's time for me to retire, and management said, the boss here said no it's not. Would you consider part-time? And, I went hmm, I never thought about that. Let me think, I would probably have a part-time gig if I left here, why not make the part-time gig, my part-time gig, you know what I'm saying."
Ethan revealed that his new schedule will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on the Ethan and Lou Show. On Mondays and Fridays I'll be flying solo for now, but not for long as I have big plans for the future of the I-95 Morning Show.
We spoke about this for two segments on the Thursday (7/14/22) Ethan and Lou Show and you can listen to both below.
We also recorded the two segments on our Instagram (@i95rock) so we'd have them forever, and to capture any tears that I may have shed. I made it through this time but when the big guy finally hangs it up, I can guarantee you, I'll need some tissues. Check out segment 1 below where Ethan makes his announcement.
You can see what I think about this news in Segment 2 below.
I knew 5 years ago that this was a matter of time. August 22, 2022 is the 15 year anniversary of the Ethan and Lou Show.
