According to a press release from the Danbury Police Department, Danbury Police Officer David Williams has turned himself in to his own department after a warrant was issued for his arrest on a Breach of Peace charge.

The Danbury States Attorney's Office received a video that showed Officer Williams allegedly using unnecessary force against a handcuffed suspect late last Summer on July 29, 2016. A thorough investigation conducted by the Connecticut State Police resulted in William's arrest.

The press release goes on to say that the suspect in this case has also been arrested and charged with assaulting another Danbury Police Officer.

As the Connecticut State Police investigation was being conducted on Williams, the Danbury Police Internal Affairs Division was also conducting its own. The result being Officer Williams was in violation of numerous departmental policies. The Danbury Police say that a formal disciplinary hearing will be held, where more departmental charges may be lodged against Williams.
