Things are much different now than when we were kids and probably for the better. As a kid, I was left to my own devices after I got my costume on my mom and dad opened the door and said "see ya later." At some point, people decided it was time to make more "safe" activities for the kids, rather than letting them "free range" around neighborhoods they didn't know.

One such safe trick-or-treat activity for the kiddos is going on Saturday, October 29th at the Danbury Fair Mall with "Cans For Candy" from 11 am to 3 pm.  All you have to do, and I believe you are quite familiar with this process, is bring a canned/nonperishable item and drop it in the bin in Center Court. It's super simple and all the donations will support the Community Action Agency of Westen Connecticut.

They will have trick-or-treating stations, a special Halloween show at 11:30, and giveaways for your little ghosts and goblins. Come let them have some fun and celebrate Halloween safely and without the worry of the weather. That reminds me that Halloween falls on a "school night" this year, which always made me mad as a kid. I was cool with it falling on a Sunday even, but not Monday through Thursday, oh, the agony when that was the case. By the way, this event is for kids 10 and under, important to note that.
