Isn't it bittersweet when something local that you love outgrows your neighborhood? For years, a really unique event in Connecticut was held in Danbury and Naugatuck. Not this year though, this year it's being held in Hartford.

Are you sick of going to the same old festivals and events? Food festivals that have one food tent, and 15 amateur craft vendors? I need unique, that's why I love the CT Horrorfest, I've gone almost every year. What a great idea, right? It's not ComiCon, and most of the cosplay that you see isn't 'cute". It used to be held in Danbury at The Matrix, and for the past couple of years at the Naugatuck Events Center. Here's a pic I took of Skeet Ulrich signing autographs at the 2021 CT Horrorfest.

For 2023, the CT Horrorfest is going Big Time - The XL Center in Hartford. It's happening there this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, September 23-24. It's always a thrill to see some of your favorite actors in person, and this year no different -Elvira(Cassandra Peterson), the actors behind Art the Clown, Jason Voorhees, The Creeper, and Michael Myers. My 80's crush PJ Soles will be there, as well as multiple cast members from Dawn of the Dead.

I kind of sensed it last year that CT Horrorfest was outgrowing Naugatuck, the parking lot at the Events Center was full very early, so much so that we had to park near 66 Church. We lost another unique event to our Capital City Western Connecticut, I'll so angry if the Garlic Festival in Bethlehem goes to Bridgeport next year.
