A White Christmas Is Back In Connecticut’s Forecast
Today is Monday, December 22, and we are officially 48 hours away from Christmas Eve. I just got the latest forecast from our weather center, and if you've been dreaming of one your White Christmas may come true in 2025.
According to the latest weather forecast for Danbury/Waterbury/Hartford, Connecticut, we will be receiving an inch or three of the good stuff starting around 3AM on the overnight tonight (December 23) through the midday/afternoon tomorrow. The further North you live in Connecticut, the more snow you may get. Those of us who live in the Northern sections of the state may be in line to receive 2-3 inches of snow before it tapers off. The latest forecast for Christmas Eve (December 24) is for temperatures in the mid to upper 30's statewide, with partly cloudy skies. No melting.
The Christmas Day forecast is calling for mostly cloudy skies with a high reaching near 40 across Connecticut. No melting for two days snow, and we all get what we've been waiting for.
Thinking back of the last few years, we haven't had a White Christmas in Connecticut since 2021, when most of the state received an inch or two on December 24. Christmas 2022 was warm, with a high temp of 48 degrees, as was Christmas 2023, not a flake in sight. Just last year on Christmas day 2024, Connecticut was sitting at a sunny 52 degrees.
The warmest Christmas Day that I can remember happened in the late 2010's, where Connecticut almost reached 60 degrees. I want to say that was in 2018.
