New Study Says Connecticut is More Boring Than Watching Paint Dry
I used to fear boredom, worrying about what I would do if I had nothing to occupy my time. Now, I welcome it, as being bored simply means there are no fires to put out. Perhaps that's why I'm perfectly fine with the results of a new study showing that my home state is among the nation's most boring.
Wallet Hub just released the results of their data analysis to find the country's most exciting and boring states. When all was said and done, Connecticut ranked as the 44th Most Fun State in America.
Wallet Hub examined factors like:
- Restaurants Per Capita
- Movie Theaters Per Capita
- Golf Courses & Country Clubs Per Capita
- Performing Arts Theaters Per Capita
- Fitness Centers Per Capita
- Skiing Facilities Per Capita
- Marinas Per Capita
- Access to National Parks
- Variety of Arts, Entertainment & Rec Establishments
- Personal Expenditures on Rec Establishments Per Capita
- State & Local Expenditures on Parks & Rec Per Capita
In the end Connecticut's poorest performance came in State & Local Expenditures on Parks & Rec Per Capita (46th) and Access To National Parks (47th). We did perform well in the Marina category where we were tied for 1st in the nation with Florida, NY, Maine and Massachusetts
The Most Fun States in the Nation According to Wallet Hub:
10. Louisiana
9. Minnesota
8. Washington
7. Texas
6. Illinois
5. Colorado
4. New York
3. Nevada
2. California
1. Florida
I don't know about you but I'm having a blast with nothing to do but I have an "old soul." My old soul AKA, the bitter, rotten chasm of a 90-year-old man.
P.S. How hilarious is it that we are #1 in access to marinas? That is not going to help our national reputation as a pack of elite douche-faces.
