Connecticut Open House Day Means Cheap Thrills For All of Us
The 19th annual Connecticut Open House Day is this Saturday, June 10, 2023. It's a statewide event that's organized by Connecticut's Tourism Office and CTvisit.com. What is it? Free or reduced admission at more than 200 of Connecticut's tourist attractions, it's a great way to see the best of Connecticut and save a few bucks. I looked through the latest lineup and found some interesting destinations.

CTvisit.com is where you'll find the complete lineup broken down by County. If you're looking for a bargain at most of Connecticut's largest museums and tourist attractions, the pickings are decent. The awesome Connecticut Science Center in Hartford is offering admission to everyone at kid's prices from 10AM-4PM. Dinosaur State Park in Rocky Hill will open up their gates for free to everyone also.
In Danbury, the Danbury Museum & Historical Society will offer free tours, as will The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield. My wife was quite surprised to find that Monroe is planning an old-timey cake walk at the Stepney Green on Rt. 25, and they're giving away a bunch of cakes from bakeries around town.
Two Roads Brewing in Stratford is bringing in a vendor's market, live band, and will offer free tours and taster glasses. The Carousel Museum in Bristol will offer free admission and free rides for children all day too. The one Connecticut Open House Day event that I urge you attend is in Winsted, the American Mural Project will offer free admission all day where you can check out their absolutely incredible 5 story massive mural.
Again, all of the events for the 19th annual Connecticut Open House Day happen on Saturday, June 10.
