CT + NY Rated Highly in Best States for Camping Study, Who Won?
It's that time of year, the sun comes out and the families follow.
We'll all be working on a summer itinerary and if your family is like mine, camping is on the 2023 bucket list. If you are planning or considering a camping trip you'll be delighted to learn that there are plenty of wonderful options in CT and New York and there is hard data to back that up.
Love Lawn set out to determine the Best States for Camping in 2023 and CT + NY ranked highly, here are the Top 10:
1 - California
2 - Washington
3 - Texas
4 - Florida
5 - New York
6 - Colorado
7 - Michigan
8 - Virginia
9 - North Carolina
10 - Minneota
* Obviously New York wins the camping border battle but the Nutmeg State made the top 15, ranking #14 in the U.S. New Jersey failed the Tri-State area with a ranking of #36.
How did Love Lawn come to these conclusions?
For each of the 50 states, they gathered publicly available data on the factors listed in the table below.
I'm sure the "affordability" category is what weighed CT down, high quality activities come with a premium price tag here.
AUTHOR TIP: Go to Club Getaway in Kent, CT! This isn't necessarily the traditional camping experience but it is the most fun you'll have all year. There are endless activities from kayaking, boating, jet skiing, hiking, sports, bike riding ziplining, it's all there. Do a quick Google search and thank me later.
