This is not good news for the State of Connecticut.

The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration has just released the results of a federal study that shows Connecticut had the highest rate of drunk driving deaths in 2017 according to an article in the Danbury Daily Voice.

In Connecticut, out of the 278 fatal car accidents in 2017, 43% of the crashes had at least one driver with a blood-alcohol level of .08. Drunk driving deaths in Connecticut increased 3.5% from 2016 to 2017. Across the country, the average of fatal crashes involving alcohol was 29%.

Here's a sobering statistic, the average blood-alcohol level among drivers that were involved in fatal crashes was 0.16, twice the legal limit! Another not-so-surprising stat is that marijuana has become a force in fatal car crashes involving mostly young drivers.

You never think it can happen to you until it's too late. Here's a simple solution, call for an Uber by downloading the Uber App or call for a Lyft ride by downloading the Lyft App. This is so much more effective than being dead.
