Connecticut is Good at Supporting Its Poor?
According to a new study from Smile Hub, Connecticut is one of the best states in the nation for supporting its people in poverty. Smile Hub aimed to rank the most supportive states 1-50 and used 20 key metrics to do so. Those data sets included things like most charities, affordable rental homes and lowest cost of living.
Once they crunched all the numbers they determined that Connecticut was the 10th most supportive state in the U.S. Here is the complete Top 10 list.

I'm no economist but I do have some thoughts on the matter. Maybe Connecticut could kill its ridiculous car tax, break up the monopoly that controls electricity in the state and reduce income taxes and you would not have to put so much time, effort and MONEY into supporting the poor because you'll have less people living in poverty.
Also, would it kill these politicians to do something about making housing affordable for the middle and lower-middle class? But what the hell do I know? I just live here. Is Connecticut really good at supporting its poor, if they are the ones creating the problem?
