What you see above is a picture of my Chihuahua Peanut in 2012. Peanut is wrapped up in a fleece Vera Bradley throw blanket, and it's one of my favorite photos of him. I'm showing you this because not only was my 12-year-old little guy a Vera Bradley fan, so am I. I know there are a lot of us in Connecticut, and I just read some bad news that I'd like to pass along to my fellow fans.

There are only two Vera Bradley stores left in Connecticut, according to the Hartford Business Journal, and We-Ha.com, the one in the Danbury Fair Mall, and the Vera Bradley outlet at Clinton Crossings. The Vera Bradley store in the Westfarms Mall in Farmington/West Hartford shut down for good over this past weekend. My wife worked for Vera Bradley for a few years in the early 2010's, and we were just in the Westfarms store during the holiday season.

I love the Vera Bradley fleece throw blankets, they're incredibly warm, and they were always beautifully designed. We probably own 10-15 of them, and that product has kept us all warm through brutal winters. I love browsing in their stores, yes, there weren't too many products aimed at a 50+ fat man, but I appreciate Vera Bradley's use of color and design. As a matter of fact, I'm using a Vera Bradley mouse pad right now.

So, ladies and the few select gentlemen who appreciate their products, support the Danbury store, and maybe take a trip to the outlet. I want to keep my new chihuahua RayRay looking like this.
