According to YouGov, a recent poll reveals some eyebrow-raising statistics about who should be allowed to vote in America. A shocking 20% of respondents believe kids "of all ages" should have the right to cast their ballots.

Really? How about we set them down at the controls of a helicopter and just see what happens? It gets better, thirteen percent of people support a system where parents would receive an extra vote for every minor child they have. Because, obviously, nothing says democracy quite like giving mom and dad a bonus vote based on how many unprotected sessions came to fruition.

Interestingly, these opinions cut across party lines, with conservatives and liberals almost equally clueless about the ramifications of such a system. Meanwhile, older folks seem to have a better grasp of reality, as they’re far less enthusiastic about letting kids vote or giving parents extra clout.

A full 53% believe parents would “always” or “usually” vote the same way as their kids would—right, because who wouldn’t want to go against the wishes of their 8-year-old who is screaming for ice cream for breakfast? The absurdity continues with 21% of respondents claiming parents would customize their kids' votes to reflect what’s best for them. Who are we trying to fool!? We all know that’s more about what’s best for the parents’ political agendas. If you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you.

WAIT! The more that I think about it, the more it makes sense. Maybe we should only allow the kids to vote, they cannot do much worse than the adults have over the last twenty years.

What about here in Connecticut? Our kids are a curious mix of mature and naive. What do you think? Would you trust Connecticut's children to vote in this, or any other major election? I'm DYING to see this result of this poll.

Connecticut's 12 Broken McFlurry Machines: Everything You Need to Know - 2024

McDonald's McFlurry machines are notorious for being out of order, but the fast-food giant thinks they have a long-term fix in hand. Historically, these machines have been plagued by breakdowns according to CNN, with about 10-15% currently reported as non-working, thanks to exclusive repair rights held by the manufacturer, Taylor.

But good news is here: the U.S. Copyright Office has granted a "right to repair" exemption, allowing McDonald's to fix these machines themselves or hire third-party repair services. Thanks to advocacy from groups like Public Knowledge and iFixIt.com, there’s hope for McFlurry lovers everywhere.

However, there are still some machines that are currently out-of-order in the State of Connecticut. Here is the complete list of those busted units from McBroken.com.
