Time to let your inner voyeur run wild.

The upstairs deck at my home is a breeding ground for nesting birds. If I hang a plant, they make it their home. Sadly, we just had to tear a nest out, because they were building it inside a light fixture and it was a fire hazard. Thankfully, no eggs were in it yet.

That said, it's the time of year for the massive Ospreys to come back to Connecticut from their southern winter homes. You can have a, pun intended, birds-eye view, from a few places around the state via web cams that have been placed. You might even catch a glimpse of the miracle of birth!

One live steaming is from the Connecticut Audubon Society, and the cam is located in Greenwich. You can peek in 24/7 at ct.audubon.org

Another live streaming cam is at Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison. Check out the nest at menunkatuck.org

The Menunkatcuk Audubon Society offers another live streaming view from West River Memorial Park in New Haven. The link for that cam is menunkatuck.org

I've been watching for awhile now and the New Haven cam has been the most active, but you can never tell what nature will bring. Not only do the Osprey make an appearance but other birds appear too. So keep checking back.
