DoorDash dropped its first-ever list of the top 50 local pizzerias across the country, and a few beloved Connecticut joints made the cut. The rankings are based on thousands of customer reviews and ratings collected between January and September of 2025. To qualify, pizzerias had to be independently owned (fewer than 10 locations), have at least 1,000 reviews, and earn some of the highest average ratings in their region.

What emerged was an exciting story that underscores something we discuss all the time on the I-95 Morning Show. Connecticut's pizza scene is robust and with all due respect, is bigger than just a few blocks in New Haven.

Here are the CT pizzerias that rose to the top of the pie pile:

Asylum Street Pizza – Norwich
Hubspoke Kitchen – Wallingford
Joey Garlic’s – Manchester
Mario’s Pizzeria – Naugatuck
Pietro’s Pizza – Hartford
Sofia’s Pizzeria – East Windsor

These aren’t just neighborhood spots — they’re the ones with fiercely loyal followings and review sections full of phrases like “crispy crust perfection” and “best sauce in the state.”

DoorDash says it launched the list to spotlight the local heroes keeping pizza culture alive — one slice at a time. You can check out the full list of top-rated pizzerias and see if your favorite slice made the cut in what DoorDash calls the “Battle of the Slices 2025.”

America’s Most Horrific Pizza Has 3 Locations In Connecticut

24/7 Wall Street conducted a study to uncover America's worst pizza. They scoured the internet for negative pizza reviews and compiled a list using the following method:

"consulted pizza reviews from five different food blogs and websites. Given the subjective nature of pizza preferences, we only included pizza chains that consistently ranked near the bottom across multiple sites."

After their investigation, it was revealed that the title of worst pizza in America belongs to three locations right here in Connecticut. Let's count down from 5 to 1 as we reveal the state's most disappointing pizzas and identify their locations.
