Connecticut Camping Spot Named The Best in America!

Anyone who listens to my radio show knows I love a good camping weekend, especially if it's unique. Each year, my wife and I spend a weekend at Club Getaway in Kent, CT and we have an absolute blast.

I know the Nutmeg State is littered with top-notch camping and yet it seems the rest of the country gets all the credit, until now. Cruise America recently put out their 2024 list of the nation's 9 best camping spots and a Connecticut camp grabbed the #1 overall position.

9. North Rim Campground - Arizona

8. Silver Falls State Park - Oregon

7. Emerald Beach RV Park - Florida

6. Trail's End Campground - Minnesota

5. Sandy Pines Campground - Maine

4. Rushmore Shadows Resort - South Dakota

2. The Ridge Outdoor Resort - Tennessee

And at #1, the National Champion, Odetah Camping Resort in Bozrah. Cruise America had this to say about Odetah:

This all looks like fun, I may need to clear some space on the calendar for the family but not at the expense of my Club Getaway trip. Sorry Odetah folks, I'm fiercely loyal.

This is one beautiful country and I plan on seeing it all, one campground at a time. Of course, I have to wait until I retire to zig-zag the country. That's the American way, wait until you're almost dead to enjoy your life.
