
The Four Antipasto Masters of Connecticut
Cured meats, olives, pepperoncini, marinated mushroom, marinated eggplant, artichoke hearts, cauliflower, carrots, and cheese, in oil. That's pretty much the traditional recipe of Antipasto. Antipasto translates to "Before the Meal" and the dish was served as the first course of a formal Italian meal.
I first remember eating the pint-sized, oily buffet of meats, cheese, and veggies at Christmas parties when I was a kid. Now? I love it, and I've tried the deli-case staple from hundreds of places around Connecticut. Now when I get the jones for an antipasto fix, I go to one of four places, here's my choices of the 4 Antipasto Masters in Connecticut.

I also have to say that Ann's Deli on Baldwin St in Waterbury is another great place, and LaBonne's supermarkets in Woodbury, Watertown, Salisbury, and Prospect make a very good antipasto too.
