At Just 101 Years Old, This is the Youngest Town in Connecticut
If you look at the city limit signs as you drive around, you'll notice that every single town or city in Connecticut was established in the 1600's, 1700's, and 1800's, except one. One single town was established in the 1900's, in 1921.
What's the youngest town in Connecticut?

I always thought you were cute West Haven, you are the youngest town in all of Connecticut. West Haven is almost 102 years old. How adorable. According to ct.gov, West Haven was incorporated from Orange in June of 1921. West Haven has a population of just over 55,000, and it's got an old soul for such a youngster. West Haven was settled in 1648 as West Farms, a part of the New Haven Colony. West Haven attempted to incorporate in 1784, 1786, and 1787, but their attempts were blocked.
When I think of West Haven, I think of two restaurants: Jimmie's of Savin Rock, and Captain's Galley. My parents constantly told me about their endless trips to Jimmie's, and it's still an outstanding place to grab a dog and a clam roll. I miss the hell out of Captain's Galley, do you remember how high they used to pile up the shrimp and calamari on your plate?
On the other side of the spectrum, do you know what the oldest town in Connecticut is?
Windsor. Windsor, Connecticut was settled by a company from Plymouth Colony in 1633, it was named after Windsor in Berkshire, yes, that Royal Residence. The second oldest town in Connecticut? Wethersfield, incorporated in 1634.
