Beware: Extortion Scam Hits Connecticut and New York!
Beware Nutmeg State! The scams keep coming, this time it's an extortion-style scam. The scam is also showing up in New York State, in fact it was the Rye, NY Police Department that alerted the public recently.
The Rye Police Department issued an alert to the public on Friday, September 6th that read:
Hot Take 1 - Can people please just get jobs already!!!? I work my ass off for my money. Not only do I not have enough of it to go around but I have weasels trying to steal it at every turn.
Hot Take 2 - I ignore any email that is not from my job and I never answer the phone. This aggravates my loved ones something fierce but at least it insulates me from 67% of all scams. To stay safe and keep your money, you need to go in your bedroom closet and hide under a blanket and never leave.
Hot Take 3 - I love Rye Playland.
We talked about the scam on the Tuesday (09/10/24) edition of the I-95 Morning Show
