The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection has just released the preliminary data from cannabis sales for both Recreational and Medical use in Connecticut for July 2023. I'm a big fan of the product, and I found a few interesting nuggets of info in the data. The first thing that struck me is that Connecticut's medical marijuana patients are paying a bit more for their products recently.

According to the Connecticut DCP's latest report, the average price for Medical marijuana products has risen almost $5 since January 2023, from $33.68 to $39.66. The average price for Adult-Use marijuana products has dropped from $44.61 in January to $39.92 in July.

It also caught my attention that Connecticut loves the bud. 52% of all Cannabis sold in July was flower. Vape cartridges made up 31% of sales, while edibles, extracts, tinctures, and RSO's scraped the resin off the bottom of the bowl. It also appears that Connecticut's Medical marijuana sales have fallen off a bit, purchasing 279,240 products in July 2023, compared to the March 2023 peak of 339,062 products. Adult-Use sales are climbing, with 324,177 products sold in July, compared to January 2023, the month that Adult-Use was introduced in Connecticut, which only brought in 114,459 products sold between January 10-31.

My preferred form of delivery has been extracts, which are still not available to Adult-Use customers here in Connecticut. I called The Botanist in Danbury and Still River Wellness in Torrington recently and asked if they've had any updates as to when the wax, shatter, diamonds, and rosins will be made available - no clue, but the folks at Still River clued me in that they do get moonrocks occasionally.

The Connecticut Malls That Really Don't Bring Joy Anymore

Even in this Amazon age, I still love cruising the malls of Connecticut. I've always loved Danbury Fair and Westfarms, but lately I've found that most of them are so sparse, they're depressing, especially these.
